What do you want on the virtual island?
How can it be used to enhance your practice?
Do we simply recreate what we have in the real world?
How can it be used for knowledge transfer between schools and universities?

I can see the school (and i love that it's virtually recreated here). Other parts of the island appear to be divided up. What will happen in these areas? What is the white cresent shaped structure and the other structure in the lower and upper right hand corners of the image posted here?
Can I just start building here?

The white cresent shape is the beginnings of a communal/conference area where we will be inviting people to come and chat about second life, the school and its context within peoples practice.
Its only really divided up temporary whilst we figure out how to use the space. Its really up to the staff and students how this new space is developed. Considering Second Life is a platform where the impossible in real life can be possible in Second Life I hope that we create soemthing special!
You can just start building here, there is a public "sand box" area for anyone to play in but it gets wiped every 24 hours.
Are you at Leeds Uni? Fine Art!?
If so we can arrange a space for you to build on that will belong to you.
